Katie Borland – Agape Market

Here is a brief summary about me and my little shop:

Katie is a Wilmington, NC native (well, to be precise, her family moved her here over 30 years ago, so MOST would call her a local). She is a Jane of many trades, and embodies the entrepreneurial spirit. She developed Agapé as a way to support her local community, and bring beautiful handcrafted items to homes near and far.

Agapé makes hand dyed Kitchen Tea towels, blankets, and cotton bags; hand poured soy candles with essential oils and natural scents, Room / Laundry Mists made with locally distilled alcohol from EOD brewery and essential oils; handmade jewelry, natural laundry soap and natural body cream and scrub.

While Agapé does source the highest quality essential oils from across the US, Katie has also begun to grow her own herbs and has recently purchased a copper still be begin the process of stilling her own essential oils.

Currently, Katie makes everything by hand out of her home in Scotts Hill. It is her goal, however, to be able to employ women who are seeking a “Hand Up, not a Hand Out” who are currently enrolled in a local non-profit job and life skills program with which she has partnered.
