I make my mixed media pieces, and my dad makes the ceramics pieces. My mixed media pieces are available in originals, some prints, and handmade original cards. They are either in mats or mats with frames. I always start with monoprints/monotypes I’ve made using my gelatin plate. I use acrylics with my plate along with stencils or masks I’ve drawn and hand cut myself, or with botanicals/weeds from my yard. I then sometimes collage from pieces I cut from my other monoprints or something I’ve done in watercolor (like the unicorn, girl, and turkey vulture in my featured piece). I add details using graphite, color pencil, ink/pen, and/or watercolor. My dad hand builds all of his ceramic pieces. They are all uniquely textured utilizing various materials to do so. He brush glazes and fires in a kiln. A lot of them are double fired. He has mugs, cups, bowls, and some interesting pieces like saki containers and pieces to mount/ hang on the wall.
